Click on the photo above to view a 1962 RTE interview with Professor Michael O’Kelly, in which ninety-year-old Anne Hickey recounts local superstitions (at 1:50). The same Mrs Hickey, leading a visitor into the passage tomb by candlelight, is mentioned in a 1914 book, in a 1950 newspaper story, and on a postcard.
A postcard with Mrs Hickey (undated).

Would you please help support “Voices from the Dawn?”
Voices from the Dawn has been a labor-of-love project since the first summer of fieldwork in Ireland in 1978. Now, 46 years and a dozen trips to Ireland later, we’ve completed another expedition to produce media and field research documenting the country’s ancient monuments. Would you like to help?
